Zoom is Slimming World’s monthly franchisee magazine, delivering news, business development inspiration and training to the company’s 6,000 self-employed Consultants. Over my years at Slimming World, I’ve been both a regular contributer to Zoom, as well as its full-time mum. One of my favourite articles, Peeling back the layers, appeared (with absolutely all credit to my manager, who submitted it for inclusion) in the third edition of the very respected copywriter’s bible, Copywriting: Successful writing for design, advertising and marketing, by Gyles Lingwood and Mark Shaw. The article delves into the complex primal, psychological and social reasons why we gain weight – and why we may struggle to lose it.
